The proponent is working in the area of biotechnology specifically in developing formulations for biofertilisers and biofuels for which both technology and infrastructure is in place and the major deliverable would be field testing along with awareness campaign amongst the agriculture workers.
Ekta Incubation Centre is a spin out of West Bengal University of Technology. This approach is needed to network closely with other incubators as EDC, Kolkata and more such initiatives that would emerge from academic institutions in the region.
Our focus is to drive entrepreneurship and start ups through technology and innovation. It is necessary to provide support systems to the incubates from the word go. We also realize that success of incubates once they graduate would be the visibility that Ekta ought to strive towards.
The University has 60000 technology students on its rolls. It is this large pool of quality human resources that would be our USP - in entrepreneurship, skilled man-power and R&D initiatives.
In the short term we have already tied up with Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) as partners and Hinnovation Research Centre (P).Ltd.,  Comunet Systems and TuneSpray. In the medium and long term we are striving towards industry institute partnerships and IP centric incubates. Our equity participation in such organization will help us in making this centre financially viable
